The Florida Prevention Association (FPA) is the state's premiere "One-Stop-Shop" for all prevention
services for youth and families. No longer will the call for "Prevention" assistance from families
in need of services fall on deaf ears because getting the right help will be a lot easier through FPA's
comprehensive network of prevention providers and members.
Our objective is to heighten awareness, emphasize the importance of prevention, as well as strengthen
the advocacy of traditional, community and faith based organizations/providers of prevention services.
This includes, but not limited to, building organizational capacity within communities to address
relevant issues, such as teenage pregnancy, substance and alcohol abuse, juvenile delinquency, girls
initiatives, youth employability skills training and job placement programs as well as an array of
other aggressive self help prevention initiatives.
FPA will harness the synergy of prevention service providers throughout the State of Florida to better
connect populations in need, with specific prevention services as a means of specializing and linking
the needs with services, and thus reducing the need for more intensive and expensive services; which
are more restrictive.
